CULTURAL HERITAGE

Virtual humans and virtual crowds increase the realism of reconstructed scenes or preserve intangible heritage such as ceremonies, dances, or rituals.

CAHRISMA (EU project)

(Conservation of the Acoustical Heritage by the Revival and Identification of the Sinan's Mosques' Acoustics)
Our visualisation includes modelling of the ancient mosques and simulation of the people and their behavior inside the mosques. Virtual acoustical environments are combined with realtime virtual visual environments to give the users more realistic perceptions.

EURATO (EU project)

(identification Evaluation and Revival of the Acoustical heritage of ancient Theatres and Odea)
The virtual restitution integrates the visual and acoustical simulations of ancient Roman theatres and odea, based on the most recent results of research in archaeology, theatre history, clothing, theatre performance and early music.
VRLab is involved in the creation of the 3D visual model of Aphrodisias Odeon and the animation of the audience. The virtual audience reacts in realtime to the actor’s play on stage.
